Turn-On! Chicago 2016

In 2007 a small group of Chicago Woodturners members proposed the hosting of a midwest regional symposium. Through the hard work of numerous volunteers, Turn-On! Chicago has become the jewel of the midwest. Demonstrators and attendees alike continue to elevate the 3 day symposium to "elite" status. 2016 will mark our 5th bi-annual symposium. The line up of demonstrators has been selected. You can be sure, 2016 will exceed your expectations. Make plans now to register beginning January 1, 2016.

The slate of demonstrators is set. Visit the Demonstrators page and take a look. Cathie Swanson and her team have put together a stellar group of demonstrators with skill and techniques to interest all levels of woodturners. As soon as the topics and rotations are solidified, they will be posted.

We are planning for a full complement of vendors. Previous offerings included tools, wood, sanding supplies, pen supplies, and more. Once we have confirmation, we will begin posting vendors.

Attendees and demonstrators will have the opportunity to bring several turnings to display. A review of select pieces will take place on Sunday.

On of the highlights of the weekend is the Saturday night banquet and auction. This years event will take place in the spacious facilities of the Double Tree Hotel in Mundelein. This new venue will offer a more spacious environment and a relaxed schedule.

Dormitory style rooms are available onsite. Accommodations include both single and double occupancy. For those wanting a different option, rooms are available at nearby hotels at competitive rates.

Meals are included in the registration fee. Other than dinner on Saturday, all meals will be available in the dining hall located on the Conference Center grounds.
